Books: the loan is generally granted for a period of one month, during which the book requested may often be borrowed.
Articles or chapters: this service makes it possible to obtain a copy of an article or a chapter, generally within 24 hours (in 90% of cases). Copies are sent to you by email or can be collected from the library branch of your choice.
The library covers the cost of supplying books from other Belgian libraries (the Impala network), as well as articles and chapters, for ULiège students and staff members of the University and the University Hospital.
We always serve you with pleasure. We draw your attention to the fact that there are always hidden costs (work from library collaborators, management fees, etc.). Therefore, library users are encouraged to use the Interlibrary Loan service in cases of real need.
Book delivery:
Sometimes a document that is obtained via ILL can only be consulted at ULiège Library. Some partner libraries do not allow books to be borrowed.
In case of repeated book requests that can only be fulfilled from abroad, a participation fee will be asked. Those fees may be high if the book must be requested from outside the European Union (duties, taxes and shipping costs). If applicable, our team will always contact you before ordering the requested item.
In some cases, notably in order to reduce the costs or delivery time, our team may decide to acquire an electronic version (e-book) instead. No participation fee will be asked.
