Use only the space you need, out of respect for other patrons.
Follow the lending rules for the benefit of everyone.
Observe the library’s opening and closing hours.
During periods and at locations where reserving a seat is required, check in upon arrival and check out when leaving. Stay in the seat selected during the reservation and do not change your seat.
Respect the library environment and behave according to the zone they are in: service area, quiet zone (zone 30), low-voice zone (zone 50) or discussion zone (zone 70).
Avoid any noise that might interfere with the concentration of those around you: turn down the volume on audio equipment and avoid conversations (particularly telephone conversations) in a loud voice.
Obtain authorisation from the people in charge of the library to carry out any form of solicitation, commercial activity, petition or display whatsoever.
Be able to identify themselves and show their access card to a ULiège Library staff member or security guard at all times.
Be responsible for their personal belongings.
Agree to have their personal belongings inspected when the alarm on an anti-theft detector goes off. Report any inappropriate behaviour or unexpected events to library staff.
Keep documents in good condition. Not to annotate, pencil, highlight, affix adhesive material, cut, tear or otherwise damage documents.
Deposit consulted documents in the designated areas or on the tables. Do not store them on the shelves.
Respect the specific handling instructions for old books and only reproduce them using the equipment provided.
Drink (non-alcoholic) beverages in covered or resealable containers, except in the Marie Delcourt and heritage consultation rooms, where drinking is prohibited.
Only eat snacks that are not messy.
Leave the premises clean and tidy when you leave.
Use computer equipment for study and research purposes, in compliance with University rules.
Comply with the conditions governing the use of equipment and premises.

Respect intellectual property rights, in particular copyright.
In particular, reproductions are only authorised, without the consent of the rights holders, within the framework of the legal exceptions defined in articles XI.189 to XI.191/2 of the Code of Economic Law. In this respect, only reproductions for private use or for the purposes of scientific research or educational illustration are permitted, provided that the conditions set out therein are met. It is forbidden to reproduce a work in its entirety. Any other use constitutes counterfeiting and may give rise to prosecution in accordance with the laws in force.
Respect the licences for use of electronic and audiovisual resources.
Respect the prohibition on systematically downloading and reproducing the content of electronic resources.
In general, articles may be consulted, downloaded and printed within reasonable limits and for personal use or for research or teaching purposes. For more specific uses (communication of copies to a third party, insertion of copies on a course site, distribution of copies to students, etc.), please refer to the specific contractual clauses governing the conditions of use of the documentary resources. If in doubt, do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.
